Don't know if you folks have heard about this one. It features some of the big names that are frequently discussed on this forum (but not the two really big names, I suppose).

Must say that I appreciated Steve Smith's music on this one.
And funny how Morgenstein & Rudess always seem to remind me of Nintendo... (I'm happy I don't hear them too often)

Hey, SF, how ya doin - hadn't heard ya in a while :=) ...

Sounds like a cool disc [even tho i'm usually not into all those "compilation" discs most of the time]...

I really enjoyed Rod & Jordan's perf on "MDF Fest '98 [Sat.]"...however, i can see "how you say that" ..."Cartoon Parade" is an apt title for 1 of their tunes [ again]...

Not to change the subj necessarily, but isn't it funny how Stv Morse ends up w the 2 great drumrs who make the funniest faces [Rod & Van]...[not to say that i don't look like I've just caught a whiff of some Limbergher cheese/like i'm stuck in a Port-o-let/having a seizure/desperately trying to pinch a loaf from time to time...[sorry, there goes that "Jack Black/Jim Carrey/Robin Wms/Live at the Apollo" debased, pedestrian humor again]...I'm def NO Tom Cruise/Leonardo DiCaprio/Ashton Cutcher on the kit anymore - not that i ever was, either ...but it was def a "better picture" when i was still in my 20's ;o) ]

Terry Bozzio=A Glimpse Into A Deeply Disturbed Mind

Compilations are great, it's a chance to let people that may not have been aware of your playing aware that you're "out there". Look at it this way, perhaps most "fusion" drummers wouldn't care about Josh Freese because he gets overmentioned in MD or something[i'm not saying he does], and well maybe they didn't take the time to actually HEAR him play.

And I agree about the the Rudess project, LTE also sounds that way and most of the project from Magna Carta are crap with the exception of Bozzio/Levin/Stevens

Josh Freese is way overrated. He's a solid studio guy but he's not what MD makes him out to be. I enjoy a lot of the records he's on (IE- New Radicals) but ya know...
And why does he always have to be making goofy faces in every picture he's in?

I don't think Josh is overrated...He's a bad MF'er! You have to see him play live. There were other posts about playing what is called for. I've seen him pull off some incredible shit. He also happens to be pretty comical. The funny faces are part of his personality. He's actually a simpleton...and funny.....

Hey, thanks for asking, Fuse! I'm doing OK - just studying a lot for the moment.

OK guys, maybe we're being a bit harsch on Rudess? After all, he's an incredibly gifted musician. However, I never managed to figure out why he had to take Sherinian's place in DT. (not that I've ever listened to them officially )

I didnt know he replaced DS in DT...
...Prob cuz he's just tryin to make some [extra] bread, my man[?!].
[I guess aft leaving DT 4 PX, DS decided, "why bother?"]
Rudess is indeed a good player - very rhythmic oriented
